As Senior Product Development Manager, you will lead a team playing a key role in shaping the future of helmet safety.
About the Role
As Senior Product Development Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 10 experienced and technically skilled product developers and project managers. This team is responsible for developing new Mips solutions to be implemented across a wide range of helmet categories, divided in 3 distinct categories: Sport, Moto and Safety helmets.
The role reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer and involves close collaboration with other key functional teams within Mips such as:
- Science Department
- Virtual Test Laboratory
- Intellectual Property Management
- Product Implementation Management
In your role, you are expected to both define the strategic orientation for the department, take tactical decisions about product portfolio orientation and resource prioritization as well as being operationally involved by leading closely the team, enabling the cross-functional collaboration with the other departments and follow-up on the projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Align the product development pipeline with the corporate long-term strategy
- Take tactical decisions in terms of prioritization, focus or resource allocation to aim having a relevant long-term product portfolio
- Own the product development process, including risk mitigation, relevant milestones and testing procedure, and whose goal is to meet the short-, mid- and long-term product launch plan
- Guarantee that the product development pipeline is aligned with all relevant stakeholders, including the Sales & Marketing organization to ensure the relevance of the launched products on the market
- Lead, coach and develop your team always with the ultimate goal to deliver world-class solutions in line with our vision to make helmets safer and save more lives
- Inspire your team to always strive for innovation and excellence
Who We’re Looking For
- You have worked in the helmet industry with significant experiences in a Research & Development department
- You have an outstanding understanding of the full helmet industry, from the production processes to the supply-chain and its actors
- You have proven track records from product development or innovation achievements within the helmet industry
- You have more than 5 years of experience as a team manager
- You can motivate and inspire a team but also keep a structured way of working
- You are motivated to take the next step and bring your knowledge to one of the most innovative actor in the industry to make a real difference
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience from other sporting goods, motorcycle or construction industries
